It's all good!
I finally got the other form filled off and sent of to the Cancer Society. Boy, it is alot of paperwork to give money away, especially if you are doing any kind of event. I sure coud not have done that alone either. My faithful friend Jenn was helping me on line fill out the forms So any day now we should have the on line site going. Seems I have been saying that for along while now.
Also I have been working with my new friend in Argentina, to help me with my Web page. Great guy Gus is. He told me he tried to make a donation, and it wouldn't work, possibly because he was from there. Then he read that I needed some help to make it look more like a web page than a blog. So..soon, we should be seeing some kick ass changes...lol
I have been enjoying talking to him, because no only does he do Web design, he rides, and I get to practise spanish with him and correct him on his almost perfect english. So it's all good!!
Thanks for going with the Flo http://gowitheflo.com/

This week I started up a new Web Page, for the upcoming Conga III in July 2010
Wow... so now, I am a web designer..Ha, I do not think so. I have to say it is one hell of alot of work, and it sure makes me appreciate Web designers now. Mine looks more like a blog page, but the cool part is every thing is all there in one spot, even this and my other Conga Blogs will but on the page for guests. It is all very time consuming an over whelming to say the least but exciting the same time.
Tomorrow I should have the Canadian Site set up to let the donation begin. I think it will be a little fun, sort of competion the Canadians agains the American in the fund raising dept. So far there is only a about 8 Canadian riding, hopefull that will change.
This week we had a Kelly from Qualicum and Kelly from the USA sign up. I am getting lots of private emails from people not in the path way, wondering if we were coming tht way on the way back. Anyway, I suggested they make their own Conga Line and Support us and they will be Conga riders in a different area but still riding for the cause.
If anyone has any suggestions about the web page, please let me know... I do think help is on the way from Argentina though!! Yup, that is right, a friend from Argentina whom I met on Facebook through RLAP, has offered to help. So who knows what it will look like in a couple days.
okay, thanks for goingwithflo!!!

Female Canadian Motorcyclist Riding Across America
Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser
Dear VTwin Mama,
I am writing to you on behalf of a friend, who is in the planning stages of her second cross continental trip on her Harley. She is known as “Flo” on the lady motorcycle forums I frequent. Her name is Tannis Fuhr. Last year she did it mainly for herself and to get her new motorcycle home from Florida. This turned into not just a trip of a lifetime for her and the opportunity to meet many other riders (mainly female) but also gave her reason to go back and make this trip all over again starting in May of 2009. Her ride was nicknamed the "Conga" and this will be "Women Who Ride (WWR) Conga II".
This year she has decided to make it a fundraiser for breast cancer as well as another fabulous trip. At the present she has approximately a dozen fellow lady and men riders that will be leaving from Pensacola, Florida, heading north towards Milwaukee, Wisconsin and then west to cross the border into Vancouver and in turn home to Vancouver Island. The riders will change as the route progresses as some need to return home and others will pick up where they live and join her in her travels as far as they are able. There are approximately 81 riders total so far who have committed to escorting her across America to her home. There are also some who are not able to ride with her because of location. These are our “spirit riders” who will be watching her progress. Some of us are riding for our mother, brother, sister, or other family members or friends. Some of us are survivors and some have fought and are still fighting it.
Last year she collected some pledges from friends and family for each state that she made it to and donated that to a local charity on Vancouver Island. She would like to try and make this a bigger fundraiser than last year. Her goal is to raise a generous $10,000 donation for BCF. There is a very large following on several lady rider forums including one that is set up strictly for the information regarding this ride on Delphi Forums. A new website has recently been started specifically for all information relating to Conga II. Flo also has a blog that she has started with all information so far in regards to the trip and once she arrives in Florida she will be blogging every day and all the way across the continent.

Shell Campground Booked!!!
I did it... We are booked for Shell Campground. 6 cabins!!! Each sleep 4, we took up the town!!
Now Dan is theMan, I talked to and owns the place. Sounds like just another real nice guy in shell. I asked if he knew Todd Stoelk, and he said oh...but of course!! Thanks Todd for looking after us!!
Shell is only population of 50 people we were told this year. They made such an impression on us, it was a must to go that route. I can't wait to see everyone again. We will have a little pink parade coming. Well a darn site bigger than this year as it was just me and Vgirl this time. What a hoot this is going to be.
I have paid for half down on my visa, so I am asking for a head count and to pay via paypal, to our book keeper so I can get paid. It is right across the street from the Pub, where they treated us so well. I am sure we can get our bikes washed, as we are bringing our own Cabana boys.
So far we have
Flo2, Fancy 3.Vgirl, 4. Tranny 5. Belle 6. Brenda 7. Ron 8. Biird 9. Wilbur 10. Willi 11. Coach
Who am I missing?? I thought we had about 20... If anyone reading this wants to jump in and follow us from anywhere to Shell, let me know!!

What the Dragon is up to!!
Well with a suggestion from Dragon, we have decided on a great way to end the Conga, raise a little extra money for the fund, have a great day out and also present the cheque with the monies raised to a representative from the Canadian BC society.
Her plan on organizing, is a week or so after the Conga III entourage arrives home, to have a Show n Shine, somewhere mid island. There will be several classes and awards to each. There will be a $10 entry to the show and possibly $5 if you dress your bike in pink. The judges will be able to see past the pink. We may also have a prize for "Pinkest" bike for those that want to go all out but dont think they could compete in another catagory.
We will add the money raised that day to the total raised while the Conga is on the road and present it to the BC rep at the end of the day. This could also make for some great publicity for Conga 4???? Or just what us Island riders are doing.
As a potential date for now, we would be looking at August 14 or 15. This would be about a week after all arrive home and a week before the Pig n Fin.(which many riders go to)
If anyone has any comments, suggestions, or would care to donate time or towards buying the awards, send us an email.

BC Cancer Society forms
We faxed off the form to fill in for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Now we just have to sit back and wait to see when we are accepted to do this big ride. It will be the Canadians against the Americans. Kind of a little race. Our goal is the beat this years of $12,000. So if each country raised $7,500. It will be perfect and fun at the same time. A little competition!
We have our Draggie behind the scenes organizing something special and there is a couple changes coming along the way in the route.
Like Cruiser Bar, where you ride your motorcycle right through the bar. This year the lady who owns the place,Sherry treated us so well. She gave us stuff to donate and let us set up a table of all the items we had collected to sell. Then at the last moment, where I took off my bra and Draggie put it on, and we walked around the bar, getting guys to sign it for a buck or two. Of course we left it hanging on the ceiling with others. Sherry herself is a survivor of BC and I am sure will look forward to having us there again.

Message from Sassybiker
I will do the same deal as last year, price - including shipping (up to $25 bucks) is $200 a piece with $50 going to the Conga - I will take installments to make it easy on everyone. I will also offer a 'basic' design - just a plain ribbon but it will be beautiful too - for $125 plus shipping. Howz that sound? I'm willing to work with any person taking the ride and wanting a helmet - the economy has hit me hard too so I understand ..
Thankyou Sassybiker!!!!

I'll be there on the 7th. Would love to meet you there, too! All of you!!!!
We have a hotel DEAL for the riders of the Conga III Ride for Breast Cancer. They've blocked some rooms for us and will block more as demand dictates, so book early!

The normal summer rate $125-250, our rate is $70 for a double. This rate is good only until 45 days before the Conga III.
I checked ALOT of places and this is a great deal. It is even lower than their winter rates.
We have parking priviledges under the overhang so that the bikes are together and apart from public parking.
They wills supply us with an area for bike washing and supply rags and towels for our use.
They have an on-site restaurant/bar for our convenience and safety.
There are also many restaurants within a mile of the hotel.
It will be great to have us in the same location!

Date set July 1st Canada Day, Conga heads down Island.
We had our first little Conga meeting last night. Tranny, Vgirl, Fancypants, Flo, and Hummingbiird on speaker phone. We had all the maps out and the phone on the table, talking to Biird about the route. She lives in Wenatchee, and we met her on the return of the Conga for the first time, this past May. She was not a rider at that point, but now she rides!!! So...she will be doing the Conga III with us next July.
We will be leaving here on CANADA DAY July 1...from Campbell River. Us lady riders here always get together and do a ride, actually, it started after the first Conga. I can't think of a better way to head off the Conga III. We will be heading to Victoria which is the south end of the Island. Spend the night somewhere, hopefully someone will come up with some floor space. We are hoping that more ladies will join us for the ride. Now that we have an actual date and route set. We will be arriving in Cheyenne Wyoming July 7th. So fi your readin, plan your holidays!!!
At this point we have, Flo, Tranny, Vgirl, Wilber, Coach, leaving the Island. We will be meeting up with Willi in I believe Monroe. From there we are off to Wenatchee!!!!
Lets make this the biggest Canada Ride ever, and don't forget to bring some cash, as there will be patches.. If you ride, that day, you are now part of the Conga III

Mini Congas!!
One of the girls today, came up with a Brilliant idea.. She has watched the last two Congas and really wanted to ride, but had to in Spirit only.. This is what she has decided to do...
I will not be able to make the Conga III so I am planning a fundraiser (mini Conga) here in my area...then send any funds raised to add the the Conga III fund. Once I get an idea of how many to expect, i will order the patches for each participant.
For anyone else unable to make the main event, you can do a mini conga in your area! We can all help find a cure!
What a brilliant idea!! We could be having little mini congas on July 4th, to raise money for BC..What do ya'll think???

That would be MAVERICK MOTORSPORTS on E Lincolnway in Cheyenne.
Justin is welcoming us with open arms.

Ladies and Gents, the Conga III Ride for Breast Cancer is ready to roll. All we need now is for the calendar to roll to July.
Thanks TexaxRed for organizing this one!!!

First Sponsor CONGA III PATCHES
We have been working hard behind the scenes on getting a good start a preparing for the Conga. Usually I have bring back Conga bracelets from Mexico but I doubt as to wether I will be going this year. We thought it would be cool to have a patch this time. I wrote my friend Otis/Bob from Canadian Riders Forum.
His wife Dolly just started up a new businees not long ago, doing patches. I had bought some of the great patches so I know the work is quality and affordable. Keep in mind, I have met Otis once a couple years ago.. He lives in Quebec even... How small of a world we live in!!
Dolly's business is LP CUSTOM EMBROIDERY Any way, I thought I would approach them to see if they could help in anyway. This is what I wrote....
Hey Otis,
Ol Flo has a favor to ask. As you may know we are planning the Conga III already. We will want a patch made. Here is what I am thinking.. Canada and USA united with the Pink Ribbon and Conga III on it. Do you think it would be possible? Quite the test ;)
Secondly, we are looking for sponsors and donators. This is always hard for me to ask. Is there anyway you would want to help in anyway? Do you have ideas? Maybe talk to your wife, and she what she thinks. We are going to be having tshirts made, and would like to use it on the tshirts too. our sponsors would be on the flyers and tshirts.
Also, it would be wonderful, if you or anyone you know would like to join in on the Conga. We plan to ride to Wyoming and meet up with Donna and whom ever, ride around a few days and get to know each other, head up to Canada for the return trip home.
We are in the early stages of planning.. Let me know what you think.
Flo
His response was......
Hey there FLOwer,
First of all LP Custom Embroidery is behind you ALL the way. Dolly says it would be her PLEASURE to help you in any way she can as this is a cause close to her heart, she lost her Mom to Breast Cancer. As you know she is a graphic artist so designing a patch should not be a problem.
Second of all she is also CEO (sheesh) of LP Custom Embroidery and will supply you with patches. She would however like to know (roughly) how many you would like. with all that being said I will hand the reigns over to you and Dolly. You can continue this venture and line of communication with her at : http://www.lpcustomembroidery.com/.com unless of course you want to talk to me :)
have a good one and hope this helps you out abit
Bob
Wow!!! How cool was that?????? Our first Sponsor from Canada!!! Thankyou from the bottom of our hearts!!!!!! Here is Dolly's response...
Hi Flo,
I have no intentions of charging anything. I love creating and contributing to great causes!
The Conga starts in July.....so that gives us plenty of time which is great.
I am excited to get 'the ball rolling' and am proud to be a part of your great cause. Talk with you soon

Sponsor letter
We are the Women Who Ride, an online forum of women who ride motorcycles. We are reaching out to businesses and friends for help in hopes of raising money for Breast Cancer Awareness.
Last year the Conga II raised $12,000 for Breast Cancer Awareness and Research. This year we will continue to kick dirt in the face of Breast Cancer. Recipients of this year’s ride will be Breast Cancer Fund and National Breast Cancer Foundation, both of which are 501(c)3, so donations of support are deductible.
On Friday, July 9th, 2010, the Conga III will meet up with a big celebration at the midway meeting point in . This will be a big day of great celebration.
There are numerous ways to support this Ride. Here are a few we offer:
Donate items for door prizes for credit as a donating sponsor.
$500 donation to list your company on our flyers.
$1000 donation to have your company listed on our T-Shirts.
Donate our lodgings along the route.
Donate Pink gear to be ridden on the ride.
Hint: Our gals will be wearing as much pink gear as they can find on the ride that only comes out for the Conga. Sometimes our guys join in. Chaps, Motorcycle Jackets, Helmets, etc.
Please consider sponsoring our cross-country Conga Ride for Breast Cancer. We’d love to have you ride along with us in body or spirit.

TexasRed working hard.
She has sent a letter off to Maverick Motorsports in Cheyenne with to do sponsorship, here is his resonse.
"That sounds like an awesome event. We’d love to get involved. We have an entertaining venue at our dealership that we could plan some cool stuff to entertain with plus we have some great local partners in the hotel, restaurant, city, etc. businesses that I’m sure would be more than accommodating. Let me know what you envision to be a cool and rewarding structure to this and we’ll go to work."

Thelma and Louise
Docdonna/Louise has been plotting on the WWR forum.....I read a post of her talking to some one, and this is what she said...
I've plotted out Tony and Steph's trek to Cheyenne on Saturday and it looks like I'd be taking this route as well.
It takes me North on 75 crossing into Tennessee. From there, I'll take 24 West into Kentucky
Catching 57 North towards Chicageo.
64 West to into Missouri
70 West toward kansas city
435 North toward Des Moines
29 North crossing into Iowa,
IA-2W toward Nebraska.
I-80 into Cheyenne.
Phew, looks like a lot of roads, but it makes sense when I look at it on the map. So, I think that's the route I'll be taking.
I couldn't believe my eyes, and aske when??? She says.....
Well Thelma....If you're heading out on the 4th of July, I'll be heading out about the same time. I figure at least 3 days, maybe 3 and a half days ride to get to Cheyenne. So, that will put us there about the 7th of July? Gotta have our Thelma and Louise reunion girl!! :)
Now of course, I am totally THRILLED..I knew, she couldn't resist, and now especially with her kids living there....Whoo hooo!! How ironic is that, that we are almost the same mileage away, and that was sure not planned. Conga Conga Conga III

First Leg of Conga
My goal for the Conga III would be to have some Vancouver Island Riders travel to Cheyenne, Wyoming with me. I do believe I do have a couple of confirmed riders already. So far we would leave the rock, pick up Willi in Mission. Somewhere after we pick up Willi, I'm hoping a Bee will come buzzing along for awhile if not for the long haul . We will go to Brenda Ackermans or have her meet us some where and stay close to where we did last time. She and others will ride towards Wenatchee which will be the next stop. We pick up our new rider Hummingbiird!! She will be taking us through some awesome roads as she knows them all the way to Wyoming. Who knows what or who will be joining us at this point. I so want to see more of Yellowstone. Once we get to Wyoming and hang out for a few days together I am hoping we can travel home through Canada!! So any of you Canadian Conga Chicks, reading this, please jump in!!

Is she excited or what??
How the HELL do I start a blog????? HELP!!!! LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m sitting thinking, “Great idea, but…..” and then throwing my head back and laughing!!
So it’s cool that I go ahead with this? We can meet up (wait my heart just jumped) in Cheyenne, WY at the Maverick Motorsports on E. Lincolnway. Yes?
I’m thinking between the 8th and the 11th?? You know the HOG Rally in Sheridan is that same weekend? That gonna be trouble? I know the celebration in Cheyenne will be an afternoon, moving to the local bars and restaurants that evening, then some may be ready to head for Sheridan, but it’s 350 miles away.
Any thoughts? Or you want me to run with it?

Working on the fundraiser website.
I emailed Julie who helped me set up the fundraiser page firstgiving.com, this is what she said. So I think I will go with what she says, and seeings as I have time, try the new site. What is important to me this time around is to make sure it is international or I do a Canadian one, and the gals down south do the American one. Any suggestions along the way from anyone reading of course would be very much appreciated.
Hi Flo!! It’s so great to hear from you. I am so happy that you are going to ride across the country for breast cancer prevention again! I’ve attached a new Application for you to fill out with all of the fun details. What fundraising Web site do you want to use this time? I believe that it was Razoo.com that offered better rates, but I understand if you are already comfortable using the system that you did last year.
Let me know how I can help!
All the best,
Julie

The Planning stages of Conga III
Wow, I have been home 4 months from the Conga II and it is starting already. There is much interest! I been over to WWR forum as usual yacking with my fellow biker friends. Every time the word Conga is brought up, sparks fly. There are a couple women especially whom never got to ride with us last time and are very very interested and can contain themselves from encouraging others to get on with the planning of Conga III
We have set the place as Cheyenne, Wyoming, a sort of meet in the middle place. As next year I would not be buying a bike in Florida. We are hoping that Donna Palladino from Ride Like a Pro
will be able to join us. It was her and I that started the first Conga in 08 when I bought my first Harley from her.
So anyway, her son Tony, and daughter inlaw Steph, will be stationed there. We thought what a great place to meet, we can all ride about four days to get there and hang around for 4 days exploring Wyoming. Sort of a meet in the middle, and also make it a ride for Breast Cancer again.
